What is EMS?

Electro Muscle Stimulation training uses electrical impulses to stimulate muscle contractions, providing a fast, safe and effective strength training and rehabilitation method. Try our simple, low-impact whole-body training sessions - 1:1 or 1:2.

New to EMS

We offer an EMS trial session to familiarise you with EMS training. You'll need to allow 60 minutes for this session which includes a personal one-on-one consultation, fitting and calibration of your EMS suit, and a full 20 minute workout. No special clothing is required; we have everything you need.

How EMS works

EMS, or Electro Muscle Stimulation, operates by employing electrical impulses to stimulate muscle contractions in a way that mimics the natural action potential that comes from the central nervous system. EMS Training involves wearing a special suit (consisting of a vest, pants and arm-bands) that positions electrodes directly over the major muscle groups. These electrodes emit controlled electrical impulses, which enhance and amplify your natural muscle contractions as you move. In other words contractions engage a higher percentage of muscle fibres compared to voluntary contractions during regular exercise, leading to increased muscle activation and more efficient workouts.

EMS training sessions are done with our personal trainers who customise the intensity and duration of the impulses according to an individual's fitness level and goals.
